In an exciting development, we are delighted to announce that Gavin Gough has agreed to lead the first ever photo workshop into Egypt’s stunning Black and White Desert region in April 2011.
We have organized a truly unique itinerary into this extraordinary landscape – a pace that few tourists, indeed few Egyptians, bother to visit, but one that provides a wonderful mix of cultural portraits, desert landscape and travel photography opportunities.
The tour will assemble in Cairo on Friday 21st April 2011. The next morning we jump in are specially adapted 4x4s and head off into the desert. The pattern for the next week is a mix of camping out under the stars, staying with local families and sharing their lives, crossing the desert entirely off-road and staying in small local guesthouses whilst we capture the wonderful contrast of arid desert, lunch oasis and town life.
Whether your motivation is filling a portfolio, creating stock images or improving your craft this photo tour will offer such a range of opportunities under the mentoring of Gavin Gough, that it will be hard to come away without a collection of truly individual images.
For those who feel that coming to Egypt without seeing some of the truly extraordinary sites of the ancient civilizations we have also created a 4 day extension. We are aiming to hire a luxury small Dahabiya and cruise the nile between Luxor and Aswan, stopping off at some of the keys sights such as Karnak temple, Valley Of the Kings, Colossus of Memnon and Philae Temple, Aswan. In addition we will also be exploring some of the hidden cultural gems of villages and towns that make this are so extraordinary. As we are limited by spaces on the boat, this will be first come first serve. If insufficient numbers sign up for the extension ,then we will use luxury local hotels…so spread the word and lets make this a floating workshop extension by filling the boat!
Places on the tour are strictly limited to 9 and there are already a few of you who have managed to find out about it before we launched and asked us to keep you a place, so now that it is public news, please use the application form here to sign up.
