Cairo Photo Tours are in the final stages of planning for 2 exciting new Photo workshops for 2011.

The first of these is the Cairo Explorer – an 8 day deep dive into the culture of Cairo, its people and the unusual mix of Coptic christian and Muslim faiths that shape the way of life and the skyline here in Cairo.

We will visit the main souks, mosques, bazaars and sites of Old Islamic Cairo, explore some of the local villages just outside Cairo where life appears unchanged since biblical times, visit the coptic monasteries in the nearby desert, the famous Birquash Camel Market and nearby Fayoum, where the beauty of the Oasis and Wadi are matched only by the friendliness of the locals, who continue to hand make pots and urns in the traditional manner.

The second concept is an amazing desert adventure – a trip into the little travelled White and Black Deserts, by 4×4, crossing dunes, camping under the stars or staying with local villagers at the Oasis, whilst capturing some truly original and compelling images. Our transport means that we can go anywhere we need, exploring the old wadi with their extraordinary rock formations in the White desert, the fossilized animals, the hot springs or the quiet of the desert at night. mixing camping under canvas, with staying in local guesthouse or with local families, we will find a rich seem of street portraiture, cultural photography. landscapes and opportunity.

The trips are already planned and priced. We are just awaiting confirmation from the world renown photographers that we have asked to lead these workshops and then we will release all the information.
